Why Choose Acupuncture?
Acupuncture promotes health and well-being in many ways. First and foremost, it normalizes the functioning of your body, treats a wide variety of diseases and conditions, and prevents or modifies your perception of pain.
Why Would I Go to a Licensed Acupuncturist?
In Maine, your best acupuncture care is performed by a licensed acupuncturist because our extensive education has been exclusively devoted to both ancient and modern practices of East Asian medicine. Licensed acupuncturists must to pass a national exam and maintain a Maine State License. Your licensed acupuncturist will carefully evaluate you and treat your individual health care concerns.
Where Do Acupuncturists Learn East Asian Medicine?
There are many schools in the United States where students earn Master’s and Clinical Doctorate degrees in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. To learn more about studying this ancient medicine, click

Does Insurance Cover Acupuncture Treatments?
Many insurance policies do cover acupuncture. Some policies only cover specific conditions. Ask your insurance provider or your acupuncturist if your plan covers acupuncture, what the co-pay will be and how many sessions are allowed in a calendar year.
Do You Have to Be an Acupuncturist to Join MAS?
