Benefits of Membership
Your decision to become a member of your state association shows your commitment to the profession by supporting its activities. By joining the MAS, you have chosen to get involved and be heard!    

MAS membership also includes membership in the nation’s foremost associated group of acupuncturists—the American Society of Acupuncturists (ASA). This national organization is dedicated to working with all state associations as a powerful advocate for our profession. Through its quarterly newsletter, you can keep current on professional developments nationwide.

 

 As a member of the MAS, you will receive discounts on association sponsored CEU events as well as a 5% discount with Redwing Books and Golden Needle. Your membership also offers you a 10% discount for liability insurance with CM&F.  In addition, these savings from the ASA can help pay for your annual membership:

MAS  wants you! Joining your state association is one way of supporting and actively engaging in your professional community. If you have not already, please consider becoming a member of MAS. 

The MAS works hard to:
  • Advocate for maintaining the high standards of acupuncture practice
  • Support legislation and promote acupuncture in Maine
  • Connect you with a nationwide network of acupuncture associations
  • Educate the general public about acupuncture and East Asian medicine
  • Support research in acupuncture and East Asian medicine
  • Provide a network of support for the state of Maine’s acupuncture community

Membership Levels Include:

Professional Licensed Acupuncturist
$260.00 per year or $23.00 per month
Your membership includes a personal profile page on the MAS website,  general notices and emails, newsletters, discounts for MAS-hosted events, JASA journal, discounts from various suppliers/vendors, attendance at the annual meeting, voting privileges (in board elections) and the opportunity to serve on committees and run for the executive board of the association.

Professional Licensed Acupuncturist, First Year in Practice
$150.00 for one year only or $13.00 per month
Membership includes the same as Professional Licensed Acupuncturists but at a discount for first-year practitioners.

Student 
Free 
We encourage students to join us as observers and to start connecting with your future colleagues. You will receive general notices of the MAS, newsletters, discounts from various suppliers/vendors, and attendance at the Annual Meeting as a non-voting member.

Supporting Acupuncturist 
$3,000.00 One time payment for a lifetime
Membership includes the same as Professional Licensed Acupuncturists.

Supporting Business 
$500.00 per year 
By joining the MAS you are supporting our goals to maintain high standards of acupuncture practice, promote just health laws, educate the general public, support research in acupuncture and East Asian Medicine, and provide a network of support for the acupuncture community of Maine. Your membership comes with free banner ad on MAS.org

Supporting Public Member 
$200.00 per year 
By joining the MAS you are supporting our goals to maintain high standards of acupuncture practice, promote just health laws, educate the general public, support research in acupuncture and East Asian medicine, provide a network of support for the acupuncture community of Maine

Retired Licensed Acupuncturist 
$75.00 per year 
For those licensed acupuncturists who have retired but wish to continue as participants in our association, it is our honor to have your continued presence and involvement as a voting member. Membership includes the same as Professional Licensed Acupuncturists.
